3. Academic AdvisingAdvising assists students in planning their educational objectives and provides an opportunity for students to meet faculty and staff outside the classroom. Advising is an ongoing process, and students should consult with an advisor regularly. In order to promote student success, the college requires all new students to meet with an advisor before registering for classes. Continuing students are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor each semester before registering and at other times throughout the year as needed. Academic advising options for new and continuing students vary by campus and include appointments and drop-in advising.
