Such conduct is subject to disciplinary action and may include failing the assignment, failing the course, dismissal from the class or college, and other possible disciplinary actions. Plagiarism applies to any material written by someone else. This material can be published in books, magazines, journals and newspapers. It may also include lyrics, computer code, scientific charts and graphs, and materials published on websites via the Internet. When students use information from these sources, they are required to properly cite and document the sources utilized.
